Since 1980, SRIP has organized an annual international scientific meeting to: exchange research findings; develop research interests; develop research networks and engage with clinical and academic partners. SRIP awards bursaries to enable academic students and NHS staff to attend the conference. SRIP also awards prizes to junior and esteemed researchers (clinical and academic) in recognition of their work.
The 2017 annual SRIP conference will take place in York on 12th and 13th September. The venue is located in close proximity to the railway station and the beautiful medieval streets of the city centre. The conference dinner will take place at the nearby Hospitium, a 14th century building set in the Museum Gardens.
Submissions for symposia, oral presentations and posters on the psychological, behavioural, medical and social aspects of all areas of reproduction, birth and infancy are invited from researchers, students and practitioners.
SRIP awards bursaries to enable academic students, NHS staff and early career researchers to attend the conference. SRIP also awards prizes to junior and esteemed researchers (clinical and academic) in recognition of their work.
Please indicate on your submission if you wish to apply for a bursary or a prize and also submit the completed application form (further details regarding the bursary or prize applications).
Bursaries cover conference fees, one night’s accommodation, and travel (up to £150). Priority for bursary funding will be given to existing or joining SRIP members. Membership costs £40 per year (£20 per year for students) and includes a number of benefits including five issues of the Journal of Reproductive and Infant Psychology and access to an online discussion group. In awarding bursaries, preference will be given to those who are presenting (symposium, oral paper or poster) and to those who have no, or limited, funds available to support conference attendance.
To be eligible for a prize you must have already been awarded your degree. You are therefore able to apply for a conference prize in the year following the award of your degree. Prizes include a monetary award (£250 for Doctoral; £200 for Masters; £150 for Undergraduate), conference fees, conference dinner, one night’s accommodation, travel (up to £150), and one year’s SRIP membership.
